Problem as identified by Pune Municipal Corporation:

Almost 600 vehicles will be plowing every day in various capacities for waste management. How can a technology be used to monitor these vehicles to ensure they reach the bin in time, collect garbage in time and dispose waste in time?

Solution: Solid Waste Management by use of GPS and weight sensors

• The GPS is used to track each garbage truck.
• The weight sensors are used to determine if garbage has been picked up from each location or not and to transmit this data to a database in real time

There are 4 problem statements primarily addressed.

Tracking any wrong doings in the city

Monitoring movement of garbage disposal vehicle using GPS technology.

Digital management of public buses by tracking live location. Attracting passengers to PMPL.

Helping police reach and solve crimes quickly in case of emergencies.

Solution: FindX

The solution to all mentioned problems is a location enabled android application. The basic function of this android app will be to take the location of the device and put it to database on server periodically.

Problem as identified by Pune Police:

In case of vehicle theft, vehicles are often abandoned at different location. It becomes difficult for police to ascertain the owner of vehicle based on just chassis number and engine number.

Solution: Central Lost Vehicle Directory

A web-based platform will be provided to the citizens to search for any stolen vehicle that is found by the police authorities, based on cars make and model, if user couldn't find a match a request will be flagged, so once the police authorities do find a car matching to the user specification they will be automatically notified.
