Smart India Hackathon is a non-stop digital production development competition, where problem are posed to techonology students for innovative solutions.

Smart India Hackathon 2018 Edition

To reiterate the efforts towards our PM’s vision, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Inter Institutional Inclusive Innovation Center (i4c), and Persistent Systems is proud to propose the 2nd edition of this initiative - Smart India Hackathon 2018. Till date, 45+ union ministries and departments and 18 state governments have already joined this grand initiative, making it much bigger than the previous edition.

Smart India Hackathon 2018 is being organized and will have 2 sub-editions – Software as well as Hardware:

  • Software Edition will be 36 hour software product development competition, similar in concept to Smart India Hackathon 2017
  • The new Hardware Edition will be a hackathon where teams will be work for 5 straight days and build their hardware solutions. This competition would be organised across 10 nodal centers with 20-25 teams each

Designing devices that would help in managing healthcare better. Results

Devices that can bring about productive, qualitative and value enhancing changes to the primary sector of India - Agriculture. Results

Creating intelligent devices to improve commutation facilities, quality of travel experience and overall travel safety features hardware. Results

Solutions could be in the form of waste segregation, disposal, and improved transportation system. Results

Technology for Rural development

Designing devices keeping in mind the need to improve the quality of life, employment opportunities, etc in Rural India. Results

Drones and Robotics

There is a need design drones and robots that can solve some of the pressing challenges of India such as handling medical emergencies, search and rescue operations, etc. Results
