A simple data-acquisition system that can monitor and log basic EV performance characteristics
India is going through an Electric Vehicle revolution, and understanding the performance, efficiency, health and behaviour of the vehicle on a transient basis is an essential part of making an EV a successful product.
The statement requires the development of a data acquisition system and instrumentation that would enable complete data acquisition for an EV vehicle. This includes interface and drive inputs, current, voltage, temperature of the system from the battery, controller, motor and additional auxiliary units and systems along with gps co-ordinates, speed, altitude, vibration, etc. It should be able to log this information and output to a display in the form of meaningful information such as driving performance analysis, health of various systems, etc.
Software expectations: Program / code or model of the monitoring software, the ability for its to process, record, store, display and handle the said data. Develop a user friendly GUI / interface that will enable one to easily configure the tool and its logging. Please provide a condensed schematic prototype of your solution as whole including your instrumentation, signal processing, data processing and storage / handling.
Hardware Expectations: Demonstrate some of the instrumentation methods with a simplified proto. Alternatively, create a virtual custom chip/board layout with backend software for a product that can achieve the same goal. Demonstrate its working, response, accuracy and ability to combat the problem. Pay attention to your choice and method of instrumentation, ease of use and flexibility for the intended use case. You can also provide a proto CAD design of your proposed hardware, packaging and integration. (TRL 4)
